GAA member Jon Strickland has invited us to tour the South Carolina National Guard Army Aviation Suppot Facility(AASF) number two at Donaldson. His unit is the 2-151st aviation battalion and has UH-72 Lakotas, UH-60 Blackhawks, and CH-47 Chinooks. The flight facility here in Greenville has the Lakotas and Chinooks. Their role is to train and prepare to provide aviation support for any in state emergencies. Examples of this are hurricane Matthew relief support, the Columbia floods, and most recently the wildfires at table rock.
The tour will be to just show the helicopters and the operations office and to briefly discuss their capacities and what the army national guard aviation provides to the State of South Carolina. Should only take 30 minutes. CLICK HERE to sign up. Deadline to sign up is Monday, February 27th.
